The Cloud Candy Launch Party / Super Bowl Preparty at Bistro781 was fantastic! Bistro 781 was one of the very first bars to carry Mighty Squirrel’s latest brew, a New England style IPA called, “Cloud Candy”. Cloud Candy is A hazy, deep golden-orange, medium bodied New England IPA that’s double dry-hopped with Amarillo, Mosaic, and Citra. True to its name, aromas of papaya, mango, and starfruit dominate this juicy IPA. Cloud Candy balances a smooth and crisp finish! Patrons of Bistro781 were very excited to be one of the first to try this delicious, local beer.
Not to mention, the day could not have been more ideal for a launch party. It was game day of Super Bowl VII. Of course, we all unfortunately know how this one ended up, but prior to the game the excitement level was super high! Cloud Candy was flowing and the head chef Jason made a custom appetizer of Beer Cheese dip with fresh garlic crostini, made with our Cloud Candy IPA! Recipe included below.
This was also an especially memorable pint night due to the communal aspect of it. Mighty Squirrel will soon be a neighbor to Bistro781! Making these connections made today especially valuable and special.
2 cups Cloud Candy IPA reduced down to ½ cup
1/2 cup fresh Cloud Candy IPA
6 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp mustard powder
½ tsp ground black pepper
½ tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp Tabasco
¼ tsp Worcestershire
Reduce the beer, then add the fresh beer and everything else but the cheese, bring back to a boil and stir in the cheese to melt. You could just use 1 cup of beer with no reducing at the beginning, I just like getting more of the IPA flavor in there.
